Position Title: Campaign Assistant, Fundraising Walks & Events – Temporary New York City ChapterNew York, NYwww.lls.org/nycPosition Details:Full Time, 35 hours per week$15/hourOverall Responsibility: Seeking an organized, hard working and flexible individual to perform diverse projects and activities to support and enhance income production for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk. About Light The Night: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk funds lifesaving research and support for people battling cancer. Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational evening walks in over two hundred communities where participants carry illuminated red lanterns, survivors and patients carry white lanterns and gold lanterns are carried in memoriam. In 2016, the NYC Walks raised $3.3 million to fight blood cancers. For more information please visit www.lightthenight.org/nyc. Duties and Responsibilities: Exceptional attitude, understanding and enthusiasm towards the goal and mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the very important to being a part of the Light The Night team. Assistants have the wonderful opportunity to support Light The Night participants, teams and retail partners to achieve their fundraising goals through 1-on-1 meetings and active team management. They will begin relationship building by recruiting former teams to register and calling each participant to welcome them to the event. Thus, excellent communication and customer service skills are vital for this position. Additionally, assistants will have a huge role in providing database and website support including registering participants, updating contact information, pulling reports, customizing fundraising web pages, and answering any website or registration questions. Assistants should be proficient in Microsoft excel and eager to learn in a fast-paced team and ever changing environment. Must attend all three Light The Night Walks and city-wide kickoffs.
