    The Senior Logistics Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing logistics for multiple Chapter Fundraising events, including venue selection, inventory control, outsourcing, outside suppliers, procurement of equipment, strategic planning and budgeting in support of LLS’ mission.


    Reports to:          Executive Director or assigned staff

    Supervises:          Logistics Specialist / Manager

    The New York City Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society seeks a Senior Logistics Manager to provide management and oversight of the logistics for their various campaigns and events.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Implement organizational best practices with regard to the management of all event logistics for multiple chapter campaigns to include event kick off, day of event coordination, award ceremonies, black-tie galas and additional event activities.
    • Research, recommends, and negotiates contracts for event venues and location sites ensuring legal compliance.
    • Investigates, selects, negotiates vendor contracts and permits. Manages event inventory, including purchasing and delivery to event site.
    • Recruit and manage event volunteers. Implement expense and fiscal controls and marketing/promotions and logistics resulting in chapter revenue growth and achievement of revenue goals.
    • Act as an on-site logistics manager during the fundraising event, overseeing all logistics related to the event including staff, vendors, and volunteers to ensure satisfaction of participants, and resolution of problems.
    • Prepares budgets and forecasts, and compiles summaries of total event costs. Works closely with campaign leads to ensure event expenses are controlled and managed. Connects with vendors to secure the best rate or donation of services needed for the campaign(s).
    • Manage and act as team leader to Logistics Managers, Specialists, and Campaign Assistants relating to event logistics, as well as provide input for hiring, promotion, performance, termination of those supervised.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS's mission and programs to promote the Society's fundraising, research, and patient initiatives.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.


    Education & Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 5+ years event planning management.
    • Previous experience as an Events Logistics Manager

    • Knowledgeable and experienced in nonprofit and volunteer management, with an emphasis on proven fundraising results

    • Capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively.
    • Demonstrated experience in volunteer development and cultivation.
    • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to excellence.
    • Capable of working well with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.
    • Highly organized and professional.
    • Resourcefulness, promotions savvy and problem solving acumen.
    • Knowledge of MS Office Suite 

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    • Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
    • Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
    • May be required to move Campaign materials weighing up to 15 pounds for various events.
    • Travel within the Chapter's designated area.
    • Required to work evenings or weekends.
